006: shopping guide for summer in Europe

An ungodly amount of open tabs went into the research that is this list. Here are a few of my picks for an easy breezy beautiful covergirl summer.

Here’s the black one piece suit I purchased last year from Tropic of C and absolutely love. Toteme has a similar one. This Alaia would make a dreamy cover up. Also obsessed with La Ligne’s 100% cotton shorts. Here’s they are as pants. Mango has a more affordable crochet version. Back to La Ligne - this silk two piece set would be perfect for dining al fresco.

I brought this Loewe bag to Europe last summer and it was perfect. Speaking of accessories, was I the only one that didn’t know Sezane had earrings like these? We’ve seen the Jil Sander red sandals quite a bit.. here’s a version from Proenza Schouler - on sale! I’m definitely getting these black leather sandals from J Crew as a summer staple. These ones in cream from Mango remind me of The Row. I’ve considered the Alaia mesh flats but I’m worried they’ll create a sweaty hellish prison for my feet.

Summer’s LBD might be this from Ciao Lucia. Some strappy kitten heals to match - or will this be the summer I finally buy Simon Miller’s thong healed sandals? A very classic J Crew crochet midi dress for $150. This white lace up knit dress found me via a Pinterest ad. Another cream colored maxi dress but this time, for evening. If I could only bring one sweater, this might be it.

I’m clearly fond of Ciao Lucia right now and am close to checkout for this cotton maxi skirt set and strapless top. A navy striped bikini that would go with both.

These Dries Van Noten sandals!! Definitely getting. Leaning towards the healed version here but open to opinions. Also under the category of must haves, I purchased this vintage Versace top. Planning to wear with a white mini skort - either this Amanda Uprichard or Solid & Striped option. This bright asymmetric top would also be cute with a white mini skirt.

I am obsessed with these Elsa Peretti starfish earrings at Tiffany & Co. It’s giving Aquamarine. Also sea-inspired, this silver shell clutch.

I preordered this Asta Resort dress in chartreuse. I can’t explain why but this Ulla Johnson multicolored plume situation is REALLY speaking to me. And this electric blue halter dress from Norma Kamali, the queen of reasonably priced evening wear! I have a feeling we’re going to be seeing a lot of gradient dresses this summer, like this one. Poshmark has Loewe’s Anthurium Print Dress in a Medium if anyone wants to scoop it up.

I have a Juliet Johnstone butterfly bikini, they’re the best! If you’re open to applying the idea of an investment purchase to the swimwear category, this Celine bikini. Classic. A pair of nude thong healed sandals from Aeyde. These Ancient Greek sandals look super comfortable. I’ll try them and report back.

Red leather buckle sandals from J Crew that have good reviews and would look cute with the heart detailing on this Ciao Lucia coverup I’m preordering! In an earlier post (003: Unique jewelry worth the splurge) I mentioned glass necklaces. Here’s one on Moda Operandi.

This linen sweater set from Mango would be a great airport outfit. The Eres Oda dress is forever in the canon of vacation-style. I’m eyeing the brown but Net-A-Porter has a few sizes left in a beautiful off-white color. The gold detailing on these sandals would elevate any sundress (might get them in black). This Loewe canvas pouch as a catch all for book, sunscreen, sunglasses, and lipgloss.

These shoes might be my favorite thing on this entire list. Oh and these wedges from Khaite. A bikini from Rick Owens and a coverup from Isabelle Marant. I found this Johanna Ortiz dress from Ellie Baer’s substack. Will this be the Christopher Esber dress I go for?

A tailored two piece in white and some braided lace up sandals on sale! I have this bikini in black but really love the driftwood color. A soft silk midi dress with cap sleeves which can also be worn off the shoulder.. unfortunately sold out but here’s a burgundy Matteau dress with pockets to hold you over! This front tie white linen top is perfect for people who detest wearing a bra. The 2000 vintage Cavalli tiger dress on 1st Dibs!

More gradient dresses. This Farm Rio set is top of my shopping list. Pairing with either nude healed sandals. Lots of Pucci everywhere - this midi dress and this crop top both stand out. Here’s a beach coverup in a similar print.

A great day-to-beach-to-night item is Comme Si boxer pants. Banana Republic has an off-white linen version.

I can’t stop thinking about these kitten heals with silk flowers and how good they’d look with this pink cotton halter dress. Pink and white striped bikini to match. I’m very into the shell motif on this mini dress.

Here’s a hat (and another one). These might be the fanciest friendship bracelets I’ve ever seen. Another embroidered maxi dress for good measure.
