Just when you think something’s over, it’s usually on it’s way back. Seeing Isabel Marant’s platform sneakers and skinny jeans reemerge on off-duty models is like the groundhog seeing his shadow… boho is coming.
This time, I’d like to think it’ll be more textile driven (velvets, suedes, beaded embroidery, rich leathers) and less Coachella adjacent. After doing my colors (figure out yours here), I’ve been told to avoid black/white, in favor of browns and neutrals which is mostly what you’ll find here!
I’ve been considering spending more time in NY and these Brunello Cucinelli suede chelsea boots would be perfect for everyday fall and winter.
This also may be the year I finally pull the trigger on these Loro Piana Regent cashmere and leather ankle boots. Every year they come out in a new color.. last year was beige and red. This year I’m hoping for black or espresso.
When I did live in New York, No.6 and Swedish Hasbeens’ knee high boots were my favorite boot-clog crossover. (They’re also visually comparable but more affordable than Hermes’ horse boot.)
Onitsuka Tiger MEXICO 66 is apparently the new Gazelle.
I absolutely adore Ralph Lauren Polo Bear Socks. Cute with low cut boots and a great holiday gift for all. City Boots has the most expansive and legitimate selection of cowboy boots. I like the bone color.
I don’t normally gravitate to Gucci unless there’s a horsebit involved (think Jackie bag, loafer etc) but these Gucci ankle boots are definitely doing something for me.
Barbour jackets can be swapped for lamarel.
This Ralph Lauren Fringe Suede Western Jacket is top of my fall list. It looks so lived in, and I’ve always loved Ralph’s Americana (including his daily uniform of denim-on-denim and a pepsi GMT). Here’s a more affordable fringe jacket: Stetson Fringe Jacket.
Another seasonal splurge for me I think will be this Alanui Bandana Cardigan… in cream or brown.
As I was looking for a fall dirndl (don’t ask), I came across the Ukrainian brand, Etnodim, which creates embroidered tops and dresses. You can also buy an embroidering kit from them to add finishings yourself.
The Nanushka Wool and Silk Sweater looks like a heavier version of the Banana Republic cashmere sweater that I love so much. You can never have too many Sezane Gaspard Cardigans ( I just picked up this one in Ecru). I love the Sezane Marceline Jacket and matching suede shorts. It’s giving… little swiss boy on a mountain.
And of course, Polo Bear. I Just know this oversized fleece crewneck would be great for running errands, going to pilates etc.
I have to admit that The Row doesn’t always speak to me but this Dalia Bag feels like an instant classic.
There’s a new Rachel Comey store in SF which reminded me how well the brand is suited for a boho resurgence. I especially love this Harley Fringe Bag.
Every time I get close enough to buying this Miu Miu tote they release a new color and then I can’t decide which one I want. This time it’s a navy corduroy.
I’ve been on the hunt for everyday necklaces that have a bit more color and character to them. Marlo Laz Mini Porte Bonheur Orange Sapphire necklace and Sorellina Crescent Moon Pendant immediately come to mind.
Isabel Marant’s Oskan Hobo Soft Bag is back in suede, leather, and new colors. I like the small white.
Freja Caroline Bag has a similar aesthetic to The Row at a fraction of the price. Ayllon casilda pouch is something I’ve wanted for a while. I love the organic shape.
As for the vintage suede Jackie… I’m gatekeeping it since there’s only one left and I’m still trying to justify it!
I think I’m just about to enter the wedding circuit starting this winter. Here are a few dresses I’ve flagged. PLEASE let me know your faves.
From left to right: Etro crushed velvet halter maxi. Aya Muse knit gown. Anna October midi dress. Roberto Cavalli leopard velvet devoré long dress. Rebecca Vallance Selena Gown. Rick Owens Svita asymmetric ruched velour dress. Michael Lo Sordo Alexandra open-back silk-satin gown.
Back to shoes! Miu Miu leather boots! Cute, nothing crazy.
It appears that we really are on the ten year fashion cycle because these Isabel Marant Lestany boots are really of 2014 and 2024.
I’m eyeing Gucci’s high-heeled pump and the very similar Aquazzura Love Affair Pump 105. Both I’d wear with black sheer tights and a dress or skirt.
Manolo Blahnik Maysale 70 suede mules are a great basic. I know Saint Laurent doesn’t have a reputation for being the most comfortable shoe but I think these sandals are at a reasonable enough height that I can manage.
That’s all for now! Say hi & share with a friend <3
