I love a good loafer, you can never have too many! Here are a few for your consideration.
Bass Weejuns are the original penny loafer. Hard to break in but very worth while and under $200!
(Historical significance: In 1936 Bass first became aware of European interest in a Norwegian Moccasin type slipper and adapted them for the leisure classes in America, playfully dubbing them 'Weejuns', the original and first penny loafer has stood the test of time, being adopted by countless subcultures since.)
Jamie Haller has become one of my favorite shoe brands. They also have a collaboration with Pierce and Ward who you might recognize as the interior design duo responsible for Emma Roberts’ home featured in AD. I have the red tassel loafers which are incredibly comfortable.
If you are a size US 6.5, today is your lucky day! I have been long looking for these vintage Chanel loafers in my size. The only pair I can find right now is these on Poshmark. The hunt continues..
The Row Canal loafer looks comfy however anytime a shoe is that flush to the ground I recommend finding a good cobbler to re-sole them before wearing!
A proper loafer collection should include the colors black, brown, red, and white. These Gucci loafers are great. Here’s a more affordable option from J Crew.
Slip on loafers...classically effortless? Weird? I personally am a fan especially after seeing these Saint Laurent Moccasin Loafer Mules on Marianna Hewitt.
